Family Caregiver Support Program

CaregiverThe S&DS Family Caregiver Support Program provides a creative combination of services and resources to help and support unpaid caregivers throughout Lane County. For more information about the Family Caregiver Support Program services, contact S&DS Family Caregiver Specialist at (541) 682-4498, or S&DS’ Information & Referral service at (541) 682-4038.

Support includes all or one of the following services:

Information
The program provides information about the availability of community support services and other resources for caregivers and families.

Assistance
This service provides one-on-one assistance in gaining access to current caregiver information and services. This includes: assessing needs, developing care plans, authorizing services, arranging services and follow up.

Respite (temporary relief for the family caregiver)
Respite services may be provided at home or at a daycare facility. Respite workers may provide personal care, a meal, and companionship.

Training Opportunities
The program offers free training opportunities for unpaid family caregivers and families. A Caregiver Training Topics and Speakers list is now available for download (PDF format).
