Information and Referral

Information and Referral worker photoInformation & Referral (I&R) staff members answer questions from clients, potential clients, family members, and the general public about services and resources for senior citizens and people with disabilities who live in Lane County. I&R staff members also:

  • Schedule appointments for people seeking services from Senior & Disabled Services;
  • Receive abuse complaints and Protective Services reports; and
  • Refer callers to other agencies and organizations, as needed.

I&R may be reached from Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to Noon and 1:00 p.m.to 4:00 p.m., at (541) 682-4038 or 1-800-441-4038 (toll free to callers outside the Eugene-Springfield calling area), or TTY: (541) 682-4567. Staff can also answer your questions in-person (M-F, 9:00 a.m. to Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.) at any of our office locations, or via email at sds@lcog.org.

As needed, I&R can provide written information in alternative formats (e.g., large print, Braille, audio tape) and, within limits, in foreign languages.

To determine which programs and services are appropriate for your situation, an I&R staff member will ask you a series of questions. If you try to determine program eligibility on your own, you may incorrectly rule yourself out. Therefore, it is important that you call Senior & Disabled Services for assistance.
