Information and Referral

Information and Referral worker photoInformation & Referral (I&R) staff members answer questions from clients, potential clients, family members, and the general public about services and resources for senior citizens of 60 years or more and for people with disabilities who live in Lane County. I&R staff members also:

  • provide information assistance regarding programs administered through S&DS;
  • refer callers to other agencies and organizations, as needed;
  • connect callers to our scheduling desk for appointments for people seeking services from Senior & Disabled Services;
  • connect callers alleging abuse or neglect to our Protective Services department; and
  • connect callers to case workers and other departments within our agency.

I&R may be reached from Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to Noon and 1:00 p.m.to 4:00 p.m., at (541) 682-4038 or 1-800-441-4038 (toll free to callers outside the Eugene-Springfield calling area), or TTY: (541) 682-4567. Staff can also answer your questions in-person (M-F, 9:00 a.m. to Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.) at any of our office locations, or via email at sds@lcog.org.

As needed, I&R can provide written information in alternative formats (e.g., large print, Braille, audio tape) and, within limits, in foreign languages.

To determine which programs and services are appropriate for your situation, an I&R staff member will ask you a series of questions. If you try to determine program eligibility on your own, you may incorrectly rule yourself out. Therefore give us a call, perhaps we can assist you.
