Relative Adult Foster Care

In instances where a family member wishes to provide care for an eligible relative they may consider becoming a relative adult foster care provider. In this arrangement a relative is paid for providing care, thus allowing the family to retain income that may have been lost when the family member left outside employment.

Senior & Disabled Services administers Oregon’s Relative Adult Foster Care Program in Lane County. Relative Adult Foster Care is care is provided to a Medicaid recipient by a relative in the relative’s home. To be eligible for payment under the Medicaid program, the home must be inspected and licensed as a Relative Adult Foster Care Home by Senior & Disabled Services.

For more information about becoming a relative adult foster care provider, contact S&DS’ Information & Referral service at (541) 682-4038.
