Senior & Disabled Services (S&DS) is the Area Agency on Aging and Disability Services for Lane County, Oregon. In this role, the agency is responsible for planning and administering programs and services for older people and people with disabilities. Services are financed by contributions from participants, donations from individuals and groups, grants, and by local, state, and federal government funds. Within the pages of this site, you can find information about Senior and Disabled Services and the range of services that the agency provides to people with disabilities and seniors, including in-home care, long term care in licensed facilities, Senior Meals, Meals on Wheels, and support for non-paid family caregivers.

News Highlights

The Section 8 waiting list will temporarily reopen Monday, April 8, 2013 at 9:00 AM and close on Monday, April 15, 2013 at 4:00 PM through an online only application. After the applications have been gathered they will pull 1,000 through a lottery process. Go to the Application information page for details on how to apply and step by step instructions. For more general information about Section 8, please see the Section 8 pages.

Energy-BallLiving Well With Chronic Conditions is a Stanford University developed series of 6 weekly workshops, each 2-½-hours long.  Stanford has established proof that the series makes a positive difference for  attendees who complete the course.  Classes are fun and helpful.  Learn from trained volunteer leaders with health conditions themselves about how to manage symptoms and medication, work with your health care team, set weekly goals, problem-solve effectively, improve communication, relax, handle difficult emotions, eat well, and exercise safely.  Set your own goals and make a step-by-step plan to improve your health—and your life.

Living Well With Chronic Conditions is a community service project FREE TO THE PUBLIC & hosted by the Lane Council Of Governments (LCOG).  For more information and to register, contact livingwell@lcog.org or call (541) 682-4103.

Age Knows No Limits Project - Honoring Older Adults in Lane County and the many ways they contribute to society, the workplace, our communities, and our families.

May is National Older Americans Month - We will recognize a number of people, 60 years and older, whose active engagement is a living inspiration to others. We will be honoring active, creative, and vital older Americans who  outstanding role models and who capture the true essence of this year’s theme, "Embracing Life."
